Applying Perfect Makeup

We all want to look good and feel great every day, but there are so many questions and concerns about enhancing and perfecting our looks left unanswered. We hope to answer some of these here.

Your Eyes

For great looking eyes use powder shadows for a natural look and an eyeliner pencil for drama at night. For that smoky eye look, choose a liner that has a smudge tip at one end. Line only the top lid if you have dark circles under the eyes otherwise it will bring more attention to them. Neutral tones with a hint of colour suit all skin tones and hair colour.

Dab a little vaseline on the eyelids for a pretty sheen affect.

Open up the eye with a gold or beige shimmery highlighter on the brow bone.

For an inexpensive eye makeup remover, fill a glass bottle with baby shampoo.

Your Lips

Choose a lipstick shade that complements your skin tone and hair colour. During the day keep to lighter and subtler shades and use deeper, more vibrant colours
and a shimmery lip gloss for night time.

To make lips look fuller follow the outer edge of the natural lip line and inside the natural lip line to make them look thinner.

For best results apply lipstick with a lip brush and blot lips with a tissue.

Your Face

For a longer lasting foundation try a product with silicone. The silicone creates a water-proof and smudge resistant second skin. This can help with skin problems as the live yeast extract has healing powers.

A powder bronzer under blush can really even out skin tone. Dab the blush on to

your cheeks with a brush, then apply the bronzer and lightly cover your whole face.

Concealer can be used to improve facial features. Pale shades lengthen and highlight, dark shades reduce and conceal.

Contour your face using a foundation or concealer one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone. Create depth and shadow in areas such as the cheeks and jaw. Use highlighting cream on your cheek-bones to emphasize their shape.
